All for one

It's called "Safety in Numbers" and it works.

With so much change on the horizon for many of us, it feels as if the accompanying roller-coaster ride of emotions is never going to stop.

Yes, change is inevitable but it can often be delivered at times when we least expect it. Many of us are experiencing an unprecedented level of change and uncertainty in our lives due to the current state of the economy. People are being forced out of their jobs, their homes and their communities. Such change can bring about a series of unwelcome emotions such as denial, anger, sadness, isolation and fear, to mention a few.  But the positive in all of this, is that we often find ourselves surrounded by others who are experiencing similar adversity. We are not alone, despite how we might feel.

And one way to keep our head above water is to unite with our fellow tribe.

Throughout the ages, embracing hardship together has proven to be beneficial. The simple act of talking things through with others who are experiencing similar emotions creates empathy and strength. We are able to release negative thoughts and clear our minds, therefore allowing ourselves to move forward more freely. And by listening we are not only able to help someone else but we are also able to help ourselves discover where our own answers might lie. Discussion with like-minded peers allows us to process our own thoughts and open our hearts and minds in a supportive way. Conversation also allows us to encourage others at a time when they might otherwise be feeling helpless and down, and that in itself is a great gift. We are able to see the strengths others possess and inspire them to embrace and promote such awesome qualities. And in turn we often discover hidden strengths within ourselves. And if that isn't awesome, I don't know what is.

There is plenty of positivity to be found in uncertainty. So take this opportunity to unite with those around you who find themselves in the same boat. It's a known fact that many a special bond and friendship has been formed during times of hardship. You might just discover some amazing things about the people you work with or the people in your community, and more importantly you might just discover some amazing things about yourself.

Find safety in numbers and make the call, "All for one and one for all".  Walk forward into the next chapter of your life with new found friends and positivity. And always remember you are not alone.
