5 reasons to WALK every day

Walking has been my preferred form of exercise ever since I was a teenager.

It all started as a way to clear my head and it continues to deliver positive benefits to my wellbeing.

Here are 5 great reasons to walk every day:

  1. Fresh Air - it doesn't take long to discover that fresh air does a lot to lift our mood and give us energy.
  2. Increased Endorphins - no not dolphins....endorphins. These pep-up pretties trigger a positive feeling in our body and interact with the receptors in our brain that reduce our perception of pain.
  3. Relaxation - after a leisurely or fast paced stroll you will feel relaxed, which will in turn, help to alleviate any stress you may have.
  4. Scenery - regardless of where you walk, look around - soak up the scenes around you - whether they be pretty houses, cityscapes, manicured lawns or bushland - there is always something interesting to observe and appreciate.
  5. Weight Loss and Toning - what more do you need - these two speak for themselves - walking is a great way to tone up and lose weight all at once - so get out there - what are you waiting for?
Try walking in the morning before work - it will put you in a great frame of mind for the day ahead.

Alternatively, if you are someone who finds it difficult to switch off and destress at the end of the working day, add a walk to your after work routine. You'll spend your evening in a relaxed state and sleep much better!
